Prof Leigh Oakes was invited to deliver the keynote lecture at the ‘Changes, beliefs, practices: Current research into the contemporary sociolinguistic situation in Iceland’ conference organised by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies. The conference brought together sociolinguists from around Iceland, including many who contributed to a recent special issue of Sociolinguistica: European Journal of Sociolinguistics on current trends in Icelandic sociolinguistics.
