SLLF modules

The School of the Arts (Languages, Linguistics, Comparative Literature and Film) welcomes Study Abroad & Visiting students to many modules within our programmes, with the only exceptions being where there are specific prerequisites. For modules in English and Drama, check here

You can browse the modules offered for Study Abroad & Visiting students in the School of the Arts and read the module descriptions in the SLLF module directory on our dedicated SLLF Module Registration page on QMplus (Queen Mary's Virtual Learning Environment) page (just click on the 'Study Abroad & Visiting Students' tab). You can also use the QMUL Module Directory to search and filter the modules available to Study Abroad & Visiting students in the School. Here you can also find key information on learning outcomes and assessment requirements.

We offer bespoke module suites in each semester - a number of modules that you can select together as a package and that won't clash on your timetable - with courses from the areas of film, literature, philosophy, and the languages and cultures of a society or region, taught by experts in the field.

When studying at QMUL, you can also enrol for additional, extracurricular modules (not for credit) on our QM Elevate programme - which offers modules in academic and professional communication, including how to improve your academic writing, develop your critical thinking skills, approach assignments with confidence, give presentations with flair, and much more. There you will also find modules on how to build the communicative skills needed in the global workplace such as storytelling and intercultural communication. You can browse the modules here - you can choose up to 4 each semester. If you have any questions regarding this provision, contact our admin team at sta-education@qmul.ac.uk or leave them here.
