Girls into Physics Summer School

The Girls into Physics summer school took place over three days in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University from the 27th - 29th July 2022. The summer school was attended by 40 girls in Year 10 from different schools across London and enabled them to experience life as a university student.

Across the three days the students attended physics taster lectures, 'Shattering Stereotypes' workshops aimed at tackling and raising awareness of gender stereotyping, an inspiring careers talk from QMUL astrophysics alumni Sheetal Panchal, carried out experiments within the teaching laboratories, and had a guided tour of the observatory.
