Dr Saumya GuptaPost-Doctoral Researcher on Planet Formation in Stellar ClustersEmail: saumya.gupta@qmul.ac.ukRoom Number: Room 220, G.O. Jones BuildingProfileResearchPublicationsProfileI am a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr Thomas Haworth. I completed my PhD at IISER Tirupati, India. My research interests include studying protoplanetary disks, brown dwarfs and the role of star forming environment on their evolution using current observational facilities like JWST, HST, Subaru HSC, Gaia.ResearchResearch Interests:So far, I have mainly used optical, near and mid-infrared data to identify protoplanetary disks and brown dwarfs in stellar feedback-driven young star-forming regions. Currently, I am working on identification of photoevaporating protoplanetary disks (proplyds) in different star forming regions using JWST NIRCam data and derive related parameters. My primary aim is to develop a general understanding of how the star-forming environment affects circumstellar disk dissipation, which is crucial to constrain the timescale for planet formation.PublicationsGupta et al. 2024, Search for brown dwarfs in IC 1396 with Subaru HSC: interpreting the impact of environmental factors on substellar population Gupta et al. 2021, Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam Survey of Cygnus OB2 Complex – I.
