Student Loan Company deadline and Queen Mary financial support
For students enrolled for the 2020/2021 academic year, the deadline to apply for a loan with the Student Loan Company is Friday 22 May.
It’s important you submit your application on time so that you receive your loan to help you with tuition fees and living costs.
If you’re unsure about the process, head to our Student Finance Funding page for explanations of the financial support you can expect.
Bursaries and scholarships
We offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries for students in various different situations, and over a third of our current Home Undergraduate students receive support through a bursary. You can find a list of scholarships right here.
Our Financial Assistance Fund is available for students who face unforeseen costs or hardships, to provide essential support at difficult times. For example, in the current circumstances, when our students are working remotely, some have successfully applied to this fund for help buying a laptop or with other costs incurred as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Apply by 31 May for affordable accommodation and a place to work while you study
Our east London campuses offer an incredible community in which to live and study. Many students have a part-time job while at University, including working for the University itself. Whether it's working on campus in our cafes and shops, or representing Queen Mary as a Student Ambassador, we are proud to use the talents of our students and pay them the London Living Wage.
You can also find work through the University's very own job agency, QTemps, which places students and graduates in paid temporary work on our campuses and within the local area.
You're also guaranteed a place in our student accommodation as long as you submit your application by the Sunday 31 May deadline. We offer accommodation to suit a range of budgets, providing you with an affordable place to live right in the heart of east London.
