Mathematical Sciences Building
The School of Mathematical Sciences offers an inspiring and collaborative space for our community of students and staff. Refurbished in 2019 following £18m investment, it provides state-of-the-art research, teaching and study spaces.
The building is home to:
- a new lecture theatre which seats up to 144 students
- high-quality teaching rooms
- a new IT Lab fitted with 42 computers
- the postgraduate research office.
As well as high-quality teaching rooms, there are a range of private and group study areas throughout the building – including dedicated study spaces for undergraduate and for postgraduate students – and a new social hub to give all members of the School of Mathematical Sciences a welcoming space to meet, socialise and collaborate.
The building's artistic design responds to the School’s academic function, with the building clad in eye-catching panels that form a Penrose tiling pattern. View more photos and a video of the building.
