Firstly, make sure your content is saved as ‘approved’. Content that is saved as ‘pending’ or ‘draft’ will not publish.
Then, go into your content and select ‘Publish’.
This button can be found at the top right-hand corner of the page when you are in your content or news story.
You’ll then need to update any page which will be affected by your updates. So if you’re publishing an S&E story in the news section of the Queen Mary site, you should run a section publish of the ‘news stories’ and ‘news’ sections. (marked in yellow in the screenshot)
Only publish sections that will be updated by your new content.
To do this, go to the site structure. Select the blue 'actions' button of the section you want to publish. A drop-down menu will appear. From this menu, select 'publish section'.
Do not select ‘branch publish’. This publishes everything in that section and all sections below it. If you do this in the news section, you can unnecessarily send hundreds of items to the publishing queue. This will at best slow the system down and at worst crash T4. Remember: section publish, not branch publish.

Your content should now be in the publishing queue and should go live with your next site transfer.
It can take up to 15 minutes for a site transfer to run, so bear this in mind when you’re checking the page updates
Once your page has been published you will see a green notification.
The publish will appear in a queue at the top of your T4 page.
