Banner Hero

The 'Banner Hero' should be used at the top of landing pages with one key signposting link (as it allows you to add one button). If you have multiple key signposting links on the page, you should use the Header Banner.

Example

The Banner Hero content type should be Queen Mary blue, and contain your page title and description sentence. The button should link to your key signposting link, and you should have the correct permissions for any image you use.

Steps

Step one - Creating your banner

  1. Make sure you fill out the relevant fields. This includes putting your page title in the 'Header' field, and page description in the 'Supporting text' field.
  2. Unless you have been told otherwise, make sure to select 'blue' as the colour option.

This is what the content type looks like once you select it for your landing page.

Step 2 - Adding an image

  1. Add an image from the T4 media library, or upload your own image to the T4 media library.
  2. You will need to create four variations of the image to accommodate different screen sizes. The largest image will be 1500 pixels wide, and the variants need to be 400, 700 and 1000 pixels wide.

Once you click on Variants in the drop-down menu you'll be taken to a page where you can choose the dimensions and save each version.

Uploading images - important note

Make sure you have the appropriate permissions before publishing an image or video. This includes permission of the copyright holder and, in some cases, the permission of anybody in the image (eg a signed consent form). Find out more about this on our Images page
