General content

General content is the most common content type used in T4. It displays medium-sized black text on the page. You can also insert images and links into general content.

General content example

Here's what a general content looks like.

Notes:

Use headings to differentiate between sections for better web analytics and search results. Do not use text formats such as bold or italic.

Steps

Step one - create the content type

  1. Create the general content type in the chosen section by pressing the green button '+ Add content'.
  2. Select 'general content' in the content type list. If it is not there, type 'general content' in the content type search bar and it should appear.

Step two - add text and more

  1. Have your text saved and ready on a word document.
  2. Copy and paste it into the text box. Add headings, formatting, links and images as needed.

Step three - publishing your content

  1. Once the general content type is saved and approved, publish the general content in the (child) section you created, and then the section itself.

Uploading images - important note

Make sure you have the appropriate permissions before publishing an image or video. This includes permission of the copyright holder and, in some cases, the permission of anybody in the image (eg a signed consent form). Find out more about this on our Images page

Availability
