Staff Support

Staff can get support or advice on our Technology Enhanced Learning applications in a number of ways:

Your School's Local QMplus Contact

If you have questions or issues related to your courses—such as course pages, rollovers, SITs mark transfer, course creation, or enrolment—please reach out to your departmental QMplus contact. They are equipped to assist with your queries.

Discover your school's local QMplus contact.

Raise an IT Service Desk ticket

You can raise a request or question via the online ticketing system (you will need a QMUL account to raise your query), or by sending an email to servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk. TEL application requests will be routed to someone from the TEL support team who will assist you with your query.

Drop-in sessions

Our drop-in sessions are designed for staff who need to discuss any issues they are experiencing with a member of our team. These issues might be related to one of our Technology Enhanced Learning applications such as QMplus, Q-Review or Turnitin, or indeed any other teaching technology related issue.

Sessions run online every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2pm and can be accessed through our online support area on QMplus (you will have to log in to QMplus). There’s no need to make an appointment, just come along and a member of the team will be on hand to answer your questions.

Book a Learning Technologist (BALT)

A Learning Technologist can provide advice on a strategic approach in the use of technology e.g. in providing feedback or in helping improve student engagement or with learner analytics.

If you would like to discuss your request or needs on a one-to one basis, you can request to book an appointment by emailing servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk with the following details:

  1. Your Name and Department/School
  2. A brief description about what you would like to discuss
  3. Some possible dates and times that you would like to meet (we will do our best to accommodate this, although we can’t guarantee availability)
  4. Any other information that you feel would be helpful for the session – such as links to courses, screenshots etc.

Workshops and Courses

You can sign up to online or self directed courses via QMUL's continuing professional development (CPD) site.

Browse the TELT category for workshops and courses for a specific TEL application.

TEL Guides

We have created an array of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) user guides to help you use the various technologies that are commonly used across QMUL.
