Five of the teaching spaces across our London campuses were updated over the Summer with the aim of simplifying the AV solution.
The teaching spaces updated are:
Mile End - Graduate Centre - Peston Lecture Theatre
Mile End - Fogg - Fogg Lecture Theatre
Mile End - Peter Landin Building - Room 3.01
Whitechapel - Abernethy Building - Seminar Room A
Charterhouse Square - Wolfson Institute - Room 1.30
Upcoming:
Mile End - Bancroft Building - Room 1.13 being updated in January 2025.
The rooms have had the AV control panel simplified to make it possible to start teaching by pressing one button, the addition of a Microsoft Teams room device to assist with MME teaching, as well as a Large Digital Touchscreen/Whiteboard to be used with MS Whiteboard.
The pilot is scheduled to run until the end of Semester B, and during this time TELT will be observing some of the teaching in these rooms and reaching out to teaching staff. These findings will be reported back to the project team which will then feed into the Teaching Space Design standards for the future. TELT will also be running a series of training sessions in the rooms in January 2025, so look out for the details in future newsletters and on the CPD website.
If you have any questions about the project or require further information on the use of the technologies for teaching then please contact TELT@qmul.ac.uk.
