Microsoft Teams for Teaching

During this session we will look at:
Join us for a 1-hour session designed to help teaching and support staff get the most out of Microsoft Teams for online teaching. This session will cover essential best practices, including:
- Setting up and managing Teams meetings for teaching
- Recording sessions and sharing links with students
- Using key functionalities to enhance engagement

Spotlight on QMplus Media: A Show and Tell

Join us for a 45-minute session (plus 15 minutes for Q&A) introducing QMplus Media, Queen Mary's institutional version of YouTube. This inaugural session will showcase the powerful features of the software and demonstrate how to leverage this system for your teaching and learning needs.
During this session we'll look at:
- Benefits of Version 7 Media Player: Discover the advantages of our latest media player upgrade.
- Editing Tools: Explore built-in editing features, including the ability to create interactive quizzes within your videos.
- Organization Features: Consider the use of channels and playlists to effectively organize your content.

An Introduction to using H5P in QMplus

Join us for an introduction to using H5P in QMplus. If you're new to H5P or have limited experience, this 1 Hour session is designed for you.
During this session we'll look at:
- Exploring common H5P content types
- Creating and editing basic H5P Interactive Content in QMplus
- Embedding H5P content into other QMplus activities

- Using ChatGPT and other Large Language Models (LLMs) to create quizzes and interactive summaries tailored for H5P.

QMplus Basics

This 90 minute online session (with an optional 30 minutes extra) will get you started with QMUL’s online learning environment, QMplus. Before the session we will send you some bitesize videos to ensure you can access and navigate QMplus.
During this session we'll look at:
When you attend the session we will show you the basics of the system and get you into a position to be able to start building your own areas on QMplus, using our most popular tools, including:
- uploading files
- creating activities
- how to get access to areas on QMplus
- how to give others access to your own areas.
These sessions are designed to show you the most commonly used functions, explore how you can use them with students, give you some hands-on practice and have your questions answered, supported by guidance documentation.
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Navigate the QMplus interface
- Navigate around a module page
- Structure a basic QMplus module area
- Edit the module page as course leader/teacher and be confident adding content.
- Understand various activities within QMplus, highlighting key ones
Please note although 90 minutes will cover the content above, participants will have the option of staying for an additional 30 minutes for further questions, discussion, practice and demonstrations as needed.
