Serving as a TELT Student Ambassador and Team Lead has been a pivotal and rewarding chapter in my academic and professional journey. This role has afforded me the unique opportunity of collaborating with both students and professional services staff to make learning technology more accessible and engaging for students.
A cornerstone of my time as an Ambassador was leading the comprehensive revamp of TELT’s QMplus Inductions. This project was not just about updating content; it was a deep dive into understanding the needs and feedback of students, to create something truly impactful. We reviewed previous induction lesson plans, analysed student feedback, and evaluated existing resources, with the goal of developing an induction session that was not only interactive and engaging but ultimately useful for new students as they embarked on their academic journey. Working alongside fellow Student Ambassadors was an exciting and memorable highlight. Our efforts extended beyond Welcome Week, as we continued to produce and share educational content, including videos and guides, on our Instagram and induction module page.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have led and supported these projects from inception to fruition. Hearing firsthand from students about the usefulness and engagement of the sessions was incredibly fulfilling. This experience has underscored the importance of student involvement in the co-creation of learning technologies and services, and I am proud to have contributed to this alongside the dedicated TELT staff and my fellow Student Ambassadors. Notably, this role provided me hands-on experience developing user-friendly tools and fostered a tech-forward mindset, thinking critically about how to leverage technology to improve efficiency and accessibility. This has benefitted me immensely and opened the door for opportunities working on legal tech and AI projects interning at a law firm.
