Student view: space for students to be open and free

Why did you choose to study International Relations at Queen Mary?

I chose International Relations because it is contemporary and vital to our future. I was aware of how important politics is in the world we live in with war, peace, power, wealth and poverty affecting everyone globally and at different levels. All these issues piqued my interests in this degree

What do enjoy the most about the programme?

My favourite thing about this programme is not only the content for most of my modules but also the professors and teachers in the Politics and IR department who go beyond to create a space for students to be open and free, offering guidance when needed and pushing students to achieve better grades.

What are your plans for the future?

Honestly, I don’t have a strong idea of what career path I want to walk into just yet, but I adore the idea of being able to help others selflessly, resolve conflict and raise awareness of injustice. These passions of mine resonate closely to career fields such as the Civil Service, Charity Work or Journalism, so hopefully these options might be in my future plans.
