Professor Márta Korbonits from the William Harvey Research Institute at Queen Mary University of London was recently elected to the Hungarian Academy of Medical Sciences.

This prestigious honour is bestowed on a select few people every three years. Her election was in recognition of her distinguished achievements in medical sciences working in the field of endocrinology.
Professor Márta Korbonits joins a list of renowned members who have previously been elected to the Academy, including Albert-László Barabási, Paul Nurse, and Charles Simonyi.
To mark her election, Professor Korbonits gave an inaugural lecture on “Endocrine tumors: genes and giants”, which took place on the 22nd January 2020 in Budapest, Hungary.
