Optimising health and care through equity-focused quality improvement 

The focus of this theme is on translation and impact leveraging implementation science and clinical effectiveness as part of a learning health system.  This theme aims to

  • Achieve equity in quality improvement in primary and secondary care
  • Implement behavioural change in providers and patients
  • Improve preventive services for children and adults
  • Improve outcomes for people with long term conditions: including CVD, respiratory, cancer, diabetes, brain and chronic infections
  • Improve patient safety through medicines optimisation
  • Improve organisation and delivery of health care services

This theme leverages on: 

  • Our digital connection and engagement with 275 GP practices covering 2M population
  • Clinical Effectiveness Group track record in quality improvement and facilitation
  • Development and delivery of in-practice digital tools for providers and patients in NEL and nationally
  • Network of quality improvement clinical fellows
