SPCR Seedcorn Bridging Award

Seed corn awards can be used to support researchers from any professional background for short periods of time, usually up to a maximum 1-year duration, while they develop applications for national training awards or external grant funding. Recipients should use the funded time to focus on their career development, building networks and working with local supervisory teams/mentors. There must be a defined output – for example a targeted funding call.

Bridging awards are to support individuals in the “funding gaps” between national awards. An individual has to have received a training award made in a national competition; and have performed creditably and considered likely to be successful in gaining either a further national training award or a substantive academic post within 2 years.

Each award is £10,000, the deadline for QMUL internal review is 6th January 2023, external submission 30 January 2023.  Contact Juliet.henderson@qmul.ac.uk for details.
