REF 2014 summary and 2021 info

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry’s research outputs and research impact performance were assessed as internationally excellent in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.

Research staff from WIPH were returned in Clinical Medicine (UoA1) and Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care (UoA2). 

In Clinical Medicine 87% of outputs were ranked as internationally excellent or world leading (3*-4*); 96% of the impact statements were ranked internationally excellent or world leading (3*-4*), and 100% of the environment was ranked internationally excellent or world leading (3*-4*). In Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care 89% of outputs ranked 3*-4*, and 100% of impact case studies and environment were ranked 3*-4*.
