Profile

I studied Mathematics at the University of Trieste (Italy), with an Erasmus year at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) that led me to fall in love with knot theory. 

I completed my Ph.D. on the topology of loop braid groups in 2016 at the Université de Caen Normandie (France), and after that I joined the Knot Theory research group at Osaka City University Advanced Mathematical Institute (Japan) as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow.

From September 2018 to March 2020 I was a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, working on the Leverhulme Trust funded research project “Emergent physics from lattice models of higher gauge theory”.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Data Scientist at the Centre for Cancer Prevention at Queen Mary University of London, where I work on a project which aims to develop an artificial intelligence system to aid risk-stratified screening for breast cancer.
