Eduardo de Pablo Fernández

Profile

Eduardo is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Centre for Preventive Neurology at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. Eduardo studied Medicine at Universidad Complutense in Madrid and subsequently trained as a clinical neurologist in Madrid. He completed his clinical training at King's College Hospital in London with a clinical fellowship in general neurology. He subsequently joined the Movement Disorders Centre at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology where he completed his PhD on the pathophysiology of non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease at the Queen Square Brain Bank. He continued his clinical and pathological studies in Parkinson’s disease, Multiple System Atrophy and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Eduardo joined the Centre for Preventive Neurology to work on the early detection and heterogeneity of clinical presentation and disease progression in Parkinson’s disease and other parkinsonisms using clinical and biological markers.

Eduardo is also the clinical lead of the Movement Disorders service at Darent Valley Hospital and works as an honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.   

Research

Research Interests:

Eduardo’s research explores the potential pathogenic mechanisms involved in the heterogeneity of clinical presentation and disease progression in Parkinson’s disease, Multiple System Atrophy and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Eduardo has an interest in clinical research focusing on the early detection and prediction of prognosis of these conditions using clinical and biological markers. Eduardo has a special clinical and research interest in autonomic failure in patients with parkinsonism.
