Profile

Jack is a PhD student on the Wellcome Trust-funded Health Data in Practice doctoral training programme. He is based within the Clinical Effectiveness Group (CEG) at the Centre for Primary Care. His current research focuses on incorporating neighbourhood and environmental factors into the development of cardiovascular prognostic models and comparing traditional statistical techniques to machine learning models. He will be using electronic health records procured through the SAIL databank, in addition to open-source environmental datasets.  

Jack has previously completed an MRes in Health Data in Practice. He has worked as a research assistant at the National Institute for Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in Blood Borne and Sexually Transmitted Infections at University College London in partnership with the UK Health Security Agency, and a data manager at the Institute of Global Health, University College London. Prior to this he completed an MSc in Global Health and Development at UCL and has a BSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London.
