Cuba’s doctors are in high demand
Professor Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal talks to The Economist about Cuba exporting doctors to pay sovereign debt

The Economist reports that the coronavirus pandemic has boosted the communist island’s main export - doctors. Before the pandemic Cuba was in financial trouble: in October it missed debt payments to creditor countries. One creditor is Italy, which might have accepted medical help as in kind debt payment, says Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal, Professor of Banking and Finance Law at Queen Mary University in London.
