5 Reasons Why You Should Study MA Live Art

Queen Mary is the home of Live Art. Here's 5 reasons why you should join the MA Live Art course this year...
  1. We are the home of live art: We are partnered with the key organisation in the field, Live Art Development Agency (LADA). LADA’s resources include an open-access study room in Bethnal Green, thousands of artefacts, books and video from live art history and present, regular events and opportunities for professional development.
  2. Performance Community: You’ll develop a network of creative collaborators to make work and write together. Modules like Performance Lab create a hub for constructive critique from your peers and external staff to the modules to support you making successful performance work for your aims.
  3. Practicing Professional Artists & Writers: Your teachers will be practicising artists and writers not just teachers. They will bring the contemporary work from the performance world right into your classroom. Amongst our staff we have world-renowned artists like Martin O’Brien, Julia Bardsley, Lois Weaver and Dominic Johnson
  4. Facilities: We have 3 rehearsal rooms and 2 large studios for you to experiment in as well as an expert technical support team used to supporting ambitious student and staff projects. You’ll also have access to LADA's study room, Queen Mary’s libraries and Senate House Library in Bloomsbury to work on your written assignments.
  5. Partners: You’ll be working with associate artists and partners in the London performance scene and beyond and will be encouraged to see as much work as you can as well as reading about the context of how the work fits in to live art history.
